I post here daily about what we accomplished in class each day, including handouts and links available to students on my CANVAS site.
I have completely lost track of what day in our 90-day semester we are on, given the snow days.
Honors Classes: We started with nominations for the Student Choice awards, and I collected EOC dismissal permission slips from students. Then, students worked in groups to discuss assigned topics for their WWII books. After book discussion, we returned to the short story "Two Friends" and completed the chart in our short story unit guide for literary elements present in the story. At the end of class, I distributed the EOC practice reading/questions for "Hard Times," which students need to complete for homework tonight.
Homework: Answer the questions for "Hard Times" on the EOC practice reading. Read 20-30 pages in WWII book with the goal of finished the book over the weekend.
Academic Classes: We also started with Student Choice award nominations and turning in EOC dismissal permission slips. Next, students watched the EOC tutorial video. Then, students received a handout with notes on MLA format and Works Cited pages. Using those notes, everyone used a laptop to create a Works Cited page for their research essay. After completing that assignments, students worked independently to finish writing the body paragraph started last week for this research writing assessment. At the end of class, I gave everyone a EOC practice reading and questions to complete for homework.
Homework: Read and answer questions for EOC practice reading, "The Tables Turned."
