I post here daily about what we accomplished in class each day, including handouts and links available to students on my CANVAS site.
Honors Classes: We started with a quick warm up practice testing our understanding of parallelism. Then, groups worked on analyzing the poem "The Butterfly," using the process we learned yesterday in class. After completing their analysis, groups worked on the design of their motif graffiti poster (see assignment handout) and students worked individually on reading/annotating or answering Canvas questions on chapters 1-3 in Night. Homework: Continue working on chapters 1-3. Canvas questions (2 sets: Chapter 1 & Chapters 2-3) due Friday at midnight.
Academic Class: We started with the same warm up practice testing our understanding of parallelism. Then, students studied synonyms and antonyms for our current vocabulary list with a crossword puzzle. We had one more group presentation for chapter 19 of Things Fall Apart, and then students worked on reading and answering questions for Chapters 20-21. Homework: Chapters 20-21 read and questions answered in Canvas by the end of class tomorrow. Class will end early for a presentation by our guidance counselor, however.
