I post here daily about what we accomplished in class each day, including handouts and links available to students on my CANVAS site.
Honors Classes: Students worked in their groups at the beginning of class to finish Night motif posters. The obejctive with these posters was to demonstrate an understanding of how an author uses a motif to develop a theme. Student understandig of theme showed true depth and mastery with this project; I'm really pleased. We had a few unplanned moments at the end of class and discussed the pros and cons of reading this text and working on theme with this unit. Homework: None (!!!) unless student is behind on research goals (note cards, trickster proposal) and needs to catch up.
Academic Class: We started with Night vocabulary and then moved on to discussing the sections students have been reading at home in Chapters 3-4. We added entries for those chapters to the journal, and then students used the laptops to begin working on the last required source for the research project -- a choice source, but one discovered through a curated search process. Homework: Continue working on catching up on research project -- all notes sheets are due tomorrow.
