I post here daily about what we accomplished in class each day, including handouts and links available to students on my CANVAS site.
After our free reading time, we reviewed yesterday's study of Gilgamesh by discussing what aspects of the introduction and "Death of Enkidu" sections were evidence of Gilgamesh going through the Hero's Journey. Students added textual evidence to their Hero's Journey notes handout. I then assigned them to read the "Search for Everlasting Life" (p. 25-29) and complete the following: vocabulary terms 4-6 on our list, sketches of the imagery describing the Scorpions/their home and the Garden of the Gods on the Elements of Fiction handout along with the related questions, and reading comprehension questions found and submitted through Canvas. I had hoped to also explain how to plan/outline the ACES assignment for the hero articles, but in my first period we did not have enough time.
Homework: Complete classwork as necessary, including submitting answers to reading comprehension questions through Canvas by the end of the day (11:59pm).
