I post here daily about what we accomplished in class each day, including handouts and links available to students on my CANVAS site.
We started off with 20 minutes of reading today; students could read or work on written assignments associated with reading their Lit Circle book. Next, we worked through a practice exercise converting sentences from passive voice to active voice. We then read and analyzed our final poem from the comparative literature unit, "Could Have" and read a poem written in response to this poem. I then assigned students to write a response poem of their own to "Could Have." We spent our final time in class brainstorming ideas for this assignment, and I asked them to keep thinking about it over the weekend. We'll get back to doing the actual writing next week in class.
Homework: Finish reading Part I of Lit Circle book and complete the assignments listed on the Part I packet (except for the ACES paragraph). On Monday, we'll have discussion groups for Part I and get new assignments for Part II.
