Daily Annoucements
I post here daily about what we accomplished in class each day, including handouts and links available to students on my CANVAS site.
At the beginning of class, I shared a presentation with students on sentence variety, the third and final topic in our Grammar Unit 4 on Style. Students took notes on ways to vary sentence length and sentence beginnings (they will be able to use these notes on the upcoming quiz) and practiced rewriting a sentence with multiple sentence beginnings (the challenge was to create 5 different beginnings). I also returned poetry analysis ACES so that students could see how their evaluation on the writing came from the current writing rubric (assessment ACES due tomorrow) as well as how it compare to the EOC rubric for written responses. Finally, they had independent time to work on assignments due this week: ACES paragraph due Wed., response poem due Thur., Lit. Circle part II packets due Friday.
Homework: Finish ACES paragraph (quiz grade) to submit on Wed. Work on response poem and/or Lit Circle assignments as well as reading ~25-30 pages in WWII book.
