I post here daily about what we accomplished in class each day, including handouts and links available to students on my CANVAS site.
First, students completed the reading comprehension portion of our unit test (40% of test grade). Next, they had 10 minutes of independent reading time before we discussed the Hero Nomination Letter assignment. This is a major assessment grade, our second of the quarter after the unit 1 test. We will prepare for the writing portion this week with several writing workshops focusing on pronoun usage, structure of an essay, and elements of persuasion. Students have until Thursday to conduct their interview for the letter, and then they will begin the writing process (outline, rough draft, revision, final). Finally, we conducted a pretest for the pronoun usage lesson.
Homework: Schedule interview (must be completed by Thursday)
