I post here daily about what we accomplished in class each day, including handouts and links available to students on my CANVAS site.
Honors classes: We started with a review of new vocabulary (1-5) definitions, synonyms, and antonyms. Next, we analyzed an excerpt from the "Tao Te Ching" in advance of writing an ACES response to question 6 (with the poem). This ACES response is the final portion of our Unit 1 test, and we will write the complete response in class tomorrow. Today, students had to plan their ideas for each sentence of the response. Those who finished the ACES planning used laptops to continue working on the Greek drama and tragedy notes (assigned yesterday). Homework: These notes must be completed tonight and shared with me (firstname.lastname@example.org) for this grade. We will have a quiz on the notes' content on Monday.
Academic class: We completed our notes on Pronoun/Antecedent agreement and worked through practice exercise sentences. We also reviewed the first 5 words on our new vocabulary list. Next, students used the laptops in class to write out their first two paragraphs in the hero nomination letter. Homework: They will complete the outline for the final 2 paragraphs for homework and write those final 2 paragraphs in class tomorrow.
