Daily Annoucements
I post here daily about what we accomplished in class each day, including handouts and links available to students on my CANVAS site.
After sharing our vocabulary review activities, students took the vocabulary quiz on List 1 from Oedipus Rex. After the quiz, students had 10 minutes to read independently. We then returned to the characterization activity from yesterday's class to brainstorm answers to the ACES question: How does Sophocles use the argument between Teiresias and Oedipus to develop Oedipus's characterization? Each group needed to brainstorm 3-4 possible answers to the question, and then each group member chose a different answer to use for the writing assignment. Students wrote the question and A statement (answer/topic sentence) in the writing notebook (spiral or writing section within binder) and then identified evidence to cite on the characterization chart. Finally, we moved on to reading Part I, Scene 2 in Oedipus Rex which included: study questions, vocabulary words, and tracking evidence chart.
Homework: Write draft of ACECES paragraph in response to question above. Complete any unfinished classwork as needed.
