I post here daily about what we accomplished in class each day, including handouts and links available to students on my CANVAS site.
Honors classes: We worked on compound and complex sentences at the beginning of class. Next, students worked in groups to summarize one of the modern tragic hero articles and in different groups to identify and analyze use of irony in they play. Throughout all of these activities, I approved or provided feedback on claims for seminar discussion questions. All claims must be approved before doing any prewriting or participating in the seminar next week. I will continue approving claims tomorrow in class. Homework: Prepare for OTK Comprehension Quiz. Academic classes: We worked on complex sentences at the beginning of class, then reviewed/summarized Scenes III and IV using SWBS, theme statement, and comprehension questions. Students then used laptops to complete the Canvas "quiz" on Scenes III and IV before logging into their hero nomination Google doc and working on revisions based on my feedback. Homework: Retake Canvas quiz if necessary.
