I post here daily about what we accomplished in class each day, including handouts and links available to students on my CANVAS site.
Honors Classes: Continued learning expectations for reading/annotating/analyzing Things Fall Apart. Students should have their own copy of the novel for annotation. I included this requirement in the syllabus that went home at the beginning of the semester. Please help make sure your child has his/her own copy from this point forward. Homework: Get caught up on reading in chapters 1-8. Work on annotation for these chapters. Login to Canvas after Saturday afternoon to find the Self/Peer Evaluation for Quarter 1/Oedipus Groups.
Academic Class: Today was applied our understanding of the five characteristics of a tragic hero to one of three sports figures from recent years: Lance Armstrong, Joe Paterno, and Oscar Pistorius. Students read an article about one of these sports "heroes," and annotated the article carefully (written instructions). We will work in groups to summarize and present the main ideas of these articles next week. Homework: If needed, complete tragic hero paragraph in Group Google Doc over the weekend.
