I post here daily about what we accomplished in class each day, including handouts and links available to students on my CANVAS site.
Honors classes: We started class today by analyzing this picture by M. C. Escher and connecting it to one of the hero articles we read for homework. Next, we discussed the two hero articles we have read and then read another article, annotated it, and completed the graphic organizer for it in class. Finally, students met in groups to work on revisions to ACE paragraphs.
Academic Class: We also started class today by looking at this Escher etching, but students did not read the hero articles until after seeing the picture. Next, we worked on reading and completing the graphic organizer for two articles about heroes. We completed the first article together and students worked in groups after reading the second article independently. Finally, we began our first vocabulary unit by discussing and defining five words found in our text from next week: Epic of Gilgamesh. We want to understand these words before encountering them in the text to enhance our reading comprehension.
