I post here daily about what we accomplished in class each day, including handouts and links available to students on my CANVAS site.
1st and 3rd Period classes took the English II Midterm Benchmark today. Some students used the majority of the class period, so those who finished early had time to work on Things Fall Apart reading, annotating, or journal writing.
4th Period will take the midterm tomorrow, so that class started with 10 minutes of independent reading, followed by Grammar Review for punctuation of compound and complex sentences. Next, we worked on the Double Entry Journal for chapter 1 and participated in peer review for journal entries 2-3, looking for evidence of HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) and making suggestions to improve HOTS.
Homework (all classes): Read chapters 7-8 of TFA and write journal entries for chapters 4-6. Study for grammar/sentence types quiz on Wed. By Wed. morning, submit revised "best" ACES on Turnitin.com for quiz grade.
