I post here daily about what we accomplished in class each day, including handouts and links available to students on my CANVAS site.
Honors Classes: We started with four new warm up sentences to review and practice grammatical principles. Next, students evaluated journal writing within their groups to recognize, label, and suggest HOTS for each entry. The entire journal for Part I, chapters 1-13, is due tomorrow. Students should upload the complete journal to Turnitin.com and bring a printed copy to class on Friday. After working on journal responses, students also worked on Google slide presentations that will also begin in class tomorrow. Homework: Proofread and revise journal entries and submit to Turnitin.com. Print final copy of journal to turn in tomorrow. Be prepared for Google slide presentation.
Academic Classes: We also started with four new warm up sentences to review and practice grammatical principles. Then, we reviewed five additional vocabulary words from our novel. Next, students wrote a summary of Chapter 5 to turn in and then updated the graphic organizer and culture map for Chapter 5. They also began reading the next chapter, Chapter 7 (along with the final paragraph of chapter 2). Homework: Finish reading chapter 7 and complete graphic organizer as needed.
