I post here daily about what we accomplished in class each day, including handouts and links available to students on my CANVAS site.

Students started off with our Sentence Types/Punctuation quiz and then had the opportunity to read independently while waiting for others to finish.  After that, classes are at different places in working on the double entry journal for Part I of Things Fall Apart, so I had various activities for each class.  First period read and summarized the satirical article "How to Write About Africa" to gain insight on the author's claim that his story of Africa would be different from those written by English writers before him.  Third and fourth period needed to work on peer editing, so they independently read and annotated a newspaper interview with the author Chinua Achebe while their partner evaluated the higher order thinking skills in their journal entries so far.
Homework:  Read chapters 11-13 and create journal entries for chapters 9-10.
