I post here daily about what we accomplished in class each day, including handouts and links available to students on my CANVAS site.
We started off with our Things Fall Apart final test, which included a short story written by Chinua Achebe along with reading comprehension questions similar to those on our upcoming EOC. After the test, students worked on comma exercises and independent reading until everyone was finished. Then, I asked students to identify comma rules that governed the use of commas in Comma Exercise 3 (last night's homework) and gave them Comma Exercise 4 for tonight's homework. Again, students can check their thinking and figure out correct answers using the accompanying interactive activity on the GrammarBytes website. In our waning minutes, I posed some reflection questions to the class about Things Fall Apart to wrap up our study of this important novel.
Homework: Comma Exercise 4
Coming Up: Punctuation and Capitalization quiz on Friday.
