I post here daily about what we accomplished in class each day, including handouts and links available to students on my CANVAS site.
After free reading time for 12 minutes, we began reading The Epic of Gilgamesh, stopping to consider diction, conflict, imagery, and characterization using our Elements of Fiction and vocabulary list. Students completed the illustrations for the Man-Bird and House of Dust and answered the questions about them; defined the vocabulary words somber, incantation, ominous, laments, and rouse; and analyzed the internal conflicts for both passages on the Elements of Fiction notes sheet. They also wrote an ACES paragraph about the development of Gilgamesh's character in this first section of the text. I also collected the hero article homework.
Homework: Finish CW as necessary.
