I post here daily about what we accomplished in class each day, including handouts and links available to students on my CANVAS site.
Honors classes: Students moved to the Media Center to complete our first assignment today, a webquest on the cultural and geographical background of our text, the Epic of Gilgamesh (in Canvas). Incomplete webquests must be finished for homework tonight. When we returned to class, they worked on a "playlist" of required activities for our text, including: reading the "Death of Enkidu" section of the story, discussing and answering reading questions, completing notes on conflict and imagery in the section, and defining vocabulary words from the text. Students could work through the playlist in any order they chose.
Academic class: Students also worked on the Background Webquest for the first half of class. Anyone who finished early could check on his/her ACES paragraph suggestions and comments from me and make revisions. When we returned to the classroom, we continued in the text by reading the first section of Gilgamesh, "The Death of Enkidu" and completing notes on conflict and imagery from that section.
