I post here daily about what we accomplished in class each day, including handouts and links available to students on my CANVAS site.
Honors classes: We started with 2 spiral sentences that reviewed concepts of creating/punctuating compound and complex sentences correctly. Next, students completed peer editing of one another's 2nd body paragraph for the research paper. Today our peer editing focus was on organization and transitions. Finally, we continued watching Life is Beautiful, completing Part II notes as we watched the setting change under martial law and ultimately concentration camps in Italy and comparing those to the settings in Night.
Homework: Write body paragraph 3 of synthesis essay. Print this paragraph, WC page, and outline to bring to class tomorrow.
Academic Classes: We started with a vocabulary review game for the Night vocabulary words. We have a quiz on these words tomorrow. Next, we worked out outlining and writing the first body paragraph of the research essay, practicing parenthetical citations created from the students' Works Cited entries on their notes sheets.
Homework: Read chapter 7 of Night and write 2 (choice) journal entries. Finish work on body paragraph 1 as needed.
