I post here daily about what we accomplished in class each day, including handouts and links available to students on my CANVAS site.
We started class learning about how to plan the ACECES paragraph about the best definition of a hero as posed by the hero articles. We clarified the question, selected textual evidence and wrote the A(answer) statement. Students will finish the planning guide (explanation sentences and summary) for homework over the weekend. Next, we reviewed the "Search for Everlasting Life" section of Gilgamesh that students read independently yesterday by plotting events from that section on the Hero's Journey and reviewing vocabulary from that section while also looking at how each character interacted with Gilgamesh differently. Lastly, students read the "Story of the Flood" (Utnapishtim's tale) and compared it to the Hebrew version included in our textbook of "Noah and the Flood."
