I post here daily about what we accomplished in class each day, including handouts and links available to students on my CANVAS site.
Honors Classes: After we reviewed vocabulary terms 6-10 for connotation, synonyms and antonyms, students used school laptops to complete the reading questions for "Death of Enkidu" and "Search for Everlasting Life" in Canvas. Because we had a short class in the early release schedule, that was the dominant activity for the remainder of class. Students must finish revising their hero ACES paragraph for submission in Canvas (as a quiz) by Monday, 9/12, so some students had time to work on that homework before the end of class. I collected interview Q&As from students to read over the weekend. Next week, we will begin working on the persuasive letter about this everyday hero.
Academic Classes: After we reviewed vocabulary words 1-5 for synonyms and antonyms, I divided the class into peer editing groups for revising the hero ACES paragraph. Students used school laptops to read and suggest revisions on the Google Documents we created earlier this week. Those who had time could make the final corrections and submit the revised version to Canvas (quiz) for a minor assessment grade.
