I post here daily about what we accomplished in class each day, including handouts and links available to students on my CANVAS site.
Honors classes: We started with vocabulary notes or review. Then groups 5 and 6 presented the final parts of the play Oedipus Rex. We were able to discuss most of the comprehension questions from each presentation before the end of class. Homework: None! We will have a Benchmark skills assessment on Monday, 10/10. The assessment tests reading comprehension and writing organizational skills and is designed as a measure of progress in the course at this point in the semester.
Academic class: We review vocabulary again with a crossword puzzle focused on synonyms and antonyms. Then we looked at the grammar "quiz" results that we didn't get to yesterday. By the last half of class, we were able to resume reading in Scene III of Oedipus, using close reading annotation strategies as we have on previous reading days along with comprehension questions.
