I post here daily about what we accomplished in class each day, including handouts and links available to students on my CANVAS site.
Honors Classes: We spent the entire class today on outlining for the research paper. First, I had students work in groups to identify all the different topics represented in their note cards. They then grouped those different topics into "supergroups" and identified the common theme for each group. Those groups are the starting point for ideas on body paragraph topics in the research paper. Then, I had students work online within a graphic organizer to plan out what information needs to go into what paragraph and in what order. Students worked independently on the general information sections of body paragraphs 1-3 and then we discussed the trickster-specific section of each paragraph as well. Homework: Finish outlining body paragraphs 1-3 by Monday, 12/12. In addition, review the book choice options and choose a WWII book to study by Monday as well.
Academic Classes: Today was the final day of research for our project. We went to the Media Center where students worked on Day 4 notes sheets from a source of their choosing. All note sheets are due by today for the 100-point quiz grade for this week's work. Students who finished early began working on homework: Reading Chapter 5 of Night. Homework: Catch up on research if needed. Read Chapter 5 of Night.
