I post here daily about what we accomplished in class each day, including handouts and links available to students on my CANVAS site.
Honors Classes: At the beginning of class, students learned how to organize article annotations from yesterday's class into a "note card" system using presentation software (Google slides or Power point). They practiced creating a direct quote card, a paraphrase card, and a summary card from their annotated articles. We now have several days in class this week with laptops or time on the media center computers to work on this project. Note cards must be shared with me by Monday, 12/5 for a quiz grade. Next, students worked on a chapter 1-5 quiz for the rest of the class period. Homework: Continue research annotation/note card creation. Chapters 6-9 in Night must be read/annotated and the Canvas summary notes posted by the end of the day on Thursday, 12/1.
Academic Classes: Today is the test day for our Things Fall Apart unit. Students who finished the test before the end of class began reading a short story by Chinua Achebe (the author or Things Fall Apart) and completing a reading skills assessment. We will finish those in class tomorrow if necessary. Homework: None.
